Kick star Adin Ross has clarified that he will still be buying Lieutenant Dan a boat after promising the Florida Man the gift after he survived Hurricane Milton in his current vessel. Ross was not happy with online rumors suggesting he was pulling out of the offer after the viral Tiktok sensation's criminal history went viral.
For context, Lieutenant Dan's real name is Joseph Malinowski. He went viral after Terrence Concannon shared a TikTok story about him living his life on a boat in Florida during Hurricane Harlene. His latest story about surviving Hurrican Milton promped Adin Ross to offer him a new boat worth between $50,000-$100,000 and a Kick streaming contract.
Concannon had set up a GoFundMe in Lieutenant Dan's name to help him survive. However, the Florida man's criminal record went viral on social media, with people pointing out that he has a history of assault and battery.
Soon afterward, rumors spread that Ross had rescinded his offer. However, in his latest broadcast, the streamer denied that he's going back on his words, saying everyone has a past:
"All you people that are saying don't pay him, everyone's got a f**king past!"
"Dan is getting his boat!": Adin Ross confirms he is giving Lieutenant Dan the boat and everything else
Like Lieutenant Dan, Adin Ross is a Florida resident who took a keen interest in Hurricane Milton. The Kick star even announced a challenge for specific content creators to chase the storm and broadcast it live on their channel to win $70,000.
After Lieutenant Dan went viral, thanks to clips of him talking about surviving the hurricane, Ross got in contact with Terrence Concannon, who had posted the man's story on TikTok and organized the GoFundMe page. Ross promised that he would give the viral internet sensation a boat and even offered him a Kick deal.
As mentioned, after Lieutenant Dan's criminal record surfaced, unfounded rumors spread that Adin Ross had gone back on his offer. The streamer addressed the claims on his latest broadcast and went off on people, saying he was still giving away the boat:
"Dan is getting his boat and he is getting everything! You've got people coming up to him, 'Adin Ross canceled your sh*t, what do you feel about it?' Leave that man alone, I am working myself out with him, we are going to make sure he gets the boat and the money and everything."
He also shared a clip on his alternate X account @AR15thed3mon where he claimed that the internet "loves" to make him look bad.
Adin Ross even talked with Lieutenant Dan during a recent stream on Kick and asked him whether he had faced any difficulties on his boat during Hurricane Milton.
Lieutenant Dan was quite nonchalant in his reply and told the streamer that the storm was not as bad as people thought. He also said the biggest problem that he had was people constantly coming up to him to ask if he was doing okay.
"My biggest problem that I had was that people were so concerned for me, they were showing up every hour, 'Lieutenant Dan, are you alright?' And not stop till I stuck my head out."
While Lieutenant Dan and Adin Ross are on good terms, MikeSmallsJr was quite pissed with the Kick star after he revealed that the $70,000 Hurrican Milton chasing challenge was not for everyone. MikeSmallsJr thought he was eligible and had camped out in the storm to win the money.
