La Velada del Ano ("The [Fight] Night of the Year") is an annual event organized by Twitch streamer Ibai. With its 2024 iteration, he has broken his previous world record in terms of viewer count. The broadcast of La Velada del Ano 4 saw a massive 3.8 million concurrent viewers.
The fourth iteration of the amateur boxing event was livestreamed directly from Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain. As per prominent esports personality, Jake Lucky, the entire stadium had been sold out, showing the sheer popularity of the event. Ibai now holds the number-one spot for the highest number of concurrent viewers on a Twitch livestream. His previous record was 3,449,999 viewers.
Ibai's La Velada Del Ano 4 reaches 3.8 million concurrent viewers, makes Twitch history
Spanish creator Ibai has been organizing the La Velada del Ano boxing event every year since 2021. It often features internet streamers and celebrities, with them duking it out in the boxing ring for the entertainment of fans. The fourth iteration of this event is rife with more variety in match types, with elements of professional wrestling mixed in.
La Velada del Ano 4's highlight was a Rey de la Pista match, a 10-way bout involving rounds lasting sixty seconds. The winner of each round moves on to face the next opponent in the ring. If one participant is knocked out, they are eliminated from the match while the victor gets to rest for the remainder of the round time. More rounds won means a higher chance of winning the overall match.
The following individuals participated in this match, and Karchez won:

- Unicornio
- Skain
- Sezar Blue
The third installment of the event, which took place in 2023, was controversial, as Twitch had seemingly capped Ibai's concurrent viewership for the La Velada del Ano 3 to 3,449,999. Seemingly, the massive volume of viewers had caused some issues with the site's functionality, with several channels — including the Spanish streamer's — not working properly.
Ibai is not the only creator to break records recently. YouTube star Jimmy "MrBeast" recently made history after becoming the first creator on the platform to pass the 300 million subscriber milestone.
Ibai also made an appearance in the recent video by MrBeast, featuring fifty creators going against each other in several challenges to secure $1 million.
