Well-known streamer Adin Ross recently announced that he will be hosting a stream with former US President Donald Trump. During the announcement, Ross stated that he would ask Trump to pardon Tory Lanez if he gets elected in the upcoming US presidential elections.

Ross had always been one of the most vocal supporters of Lanez. For the unversed, Lanez is currently serving time in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.

The live Kick stream featuring Trump and Ross on Monday drew a significant audience. Coming back to the favor that Adin Ross wanted to ask from Trump, netizens had flooded the internet to express their opinions on the matter. One X user reacting to Ross' statement wrote:

Several other netizens shared similar sentiments.

"Is this even like federally legal to do 😭!" one user wrote.

"Trump can't do it. The president can only pardon federal cases. Tory's case is a state case so it would have to be the governor of CA, who is Gavin Newsom, and he and Trump aren't really friends," another tweet added.

Several netizens had further extended support to Adin Ross and spoke in favor of Tory Lanez's release.

Adin Ross revealed that he had developed a close relationship with Tory Lanez

During his conversation about urging for a pardon from former President Donald Trump, Ross spoke about how close he had been with Tory Lanez. According to HotNewHipHop, Lanez had previously mentioned that he graduated high school while incarcerated and later continued his education by enrolling in college.

Talking about Lanez and Ross, this wasn't the first time that the latter had defended the convicted rapper. In January 2023, Ross appeared on the Full Send Podcast and revealed that Tory Lanez was his "favorite rapper" and one of his closest friends. Adin Ross had, however, not claimed that Lanez was innocent. In the same interview, he said:

"Yeah, he’s always my favorite rapper. I shot a video with him in like 2018, before any of this sh*t... he’s f**king great."

He further added:

"I am extremely close with Tory, like it’s crazy bro. When I was getting swatted and all this crazy sh*t was happening, Tory would text me every time it happened, like ‘you good? Get out of LA, come to Miami, pull up on me."

While it was quite evident that Adin Ross was fond of Tory Lanez, the streamer didn't cover the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case.

It is unclear if Donald Trump could actually pardon Lanez if he got elected as president. It is worth noting that Lanez hasn't been that successful in reducing his sentence as of now.

As reported by the Wrap, Adin Ross stated on the stream:

"The most important stream I’ve ever done, we’re gonna get some good ratings. You broke the website in five minutes. The chat wasn’t working."

According to the outlet, the stream began with about 250,000 viewers. The numbers soon jumped to 555,000 viewers after the former president joined.

Last year, Ross promised to bring up Kim Jong Un onto a stream, but it turned out to be a lookalike. This time, however, it seems he actually maintained what he had promised.
