WNBA star Angel Reese expressed awe at the performance of her former teammate, Aneesah Morrow, in LSU's 82-65 victory over the NC State Wolfpack on Wednesday. Morrow's double-double caught the attention of the Chicago Sky forward.
Morrow was among the team's top performers, with 20 points, 15 rebounds and three steals. Mikaylah Williams led the team with 24 points, including 4-for-7 shooting from beyond the arc. With the win, the Tigers remained undefeated at 8-0 to start the season.
Reese recognized Morrow's game on X (formerly Twitter) with a two-word reaction to her stat line.
"BEEN THAT!" Reese posted on X.
Before their game against NC State, Morrow played all seven games for LSU. During that span, she averaged 18.1 points, 13.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists. The Tigers hope to keep their winning streak alive as they play against North Carolina Central on Sunday.
Angel Reese claps back at hecklers online
Angel Reese has faced criticism for her shooting percentage during her rookie season in the WNBA. However, she didn’t hold back when responding to a heckler on social media.
"So you realize I got drafted 7th in my class while “missing layups” as a ROOKIE shooting 39% on the year & was STILL a all star and that was the worst you’ll ever see me??? or you just laid up with your dog at home hating Adam??" Reese posted on X.
Reese wrapped her rookie season as one of the best young players by finishing second in the Rookie of the Year race. However, she was widely criticized for her shooting efficiency, shooting just 39.1%.
Still, the Sky forward averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
Her efficiency during her rookie season was a major concern as she shot decently from the field during her four years in college. Reese shot 49.3% in her two seasons at Maryland and 50.1% in her junior and senior years at LSU.
In the 2024 WNBA season, Reese only had 15 games in which she shot at least 40%.
Despite her offensive struggles, she was still a valuable asset for the Sky with her dominant rebounding.
