Angel Reese is set to take on a new challenge when the upcoming Unrivaled League, co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, makes its much-awaited debut. The Chicago Sky forward was selected to play for Team Rose, which will be coached by Nola Henry and feature a mix of intriguing players, including Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper, Brittney Sykes, Lexie Hull and Azura Stevens.

Talking with Noa Dalzell of SB Nation, Henry projected that Gray would be beneficial for Reese's development in several facets of the game.

“I think Chelsea Gray will definitely help Angel’s development,” Henry said. “It’ll speed up her development — not just from a leadership standpoint, but also understanding the angles of the floor, and understanding screening.”

She also touched on what she expects to see from Reese, focusing on one aspect of the game where she's excelled.

“For Angel, it doesn’t matter, 3-on-3, 5-on-5, college, WNBA — she’s an incredible rebounder, right?” Henry said. “I expect to see rebounding from her... that’s just what she’s done her entire career.”

Moreover, Angel Reese will need to elevate her defense, as she will face some of the toughest players in the world.

“Also, back to the basket, being able to guard some of the other really good post players in Unrivaled — Phee, Stewie — she’ll get a daily, or a nightly, challenge of guarding some of the best players in the WNBA, whether they are guards, whether they are post players.”

After a terrific rookie WNBA season, Angel Reese is ready to prove herself again in a competition that will feature the best players in the W except for A'ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark.

Angel Reese shared excitement to play with Chelsea Gray

Before Nola Henry outlined her plans for Angel Reese and Chelsea Gray, the Sky star was pumping up her future partnership with the veteran. Upon learning that she'd share touches with Gray on Team Rose, Reese took to X (formerly Twitter) to send a two-word message to the Las Vegas Aces star.

"Hiiiiii PG"

This duo could make some noise in Unrivaled's inaugural season. Reese is coming off a terrific campaign where she held the record for the most rebounds in a single season before A'ja Wilson surpassed her. She's been working in the gym to try to expand her game and shoot down the notion that she's a unidimensional player.
