While Caitlin Clark is coming off a dominant year, the Indiana Fever star isn't planning to start trash talking LeBron James or Steph Curry any time soon.
As fans anxiously await the reigning WNBA Rookie of the year return to the court after suffering a quad strain, Clark had an exclusive interview with FanSided.
Clark was asked who would win in a shootout between her and Curry.
"Probably Steph. I would just be happy to be there though," Clark said on Thursday.
When the interviewer said that she could probably outshoot James, Clark laughed.
"I don't know about that," Clark said.
Last season, Clark shot 34.4% from beyond the arc, averaging 8.9 3-point attempts per game.
In comparison, Curry shot 39.7% from deep on 11.2 attempts per game this season. Meanwhile, James made 37.6% of his shots from downtown after posting a career-high 41.0% 3-point percentage last season.
Looking at the latest surrounding Caitlin Clark's quad injury
After leading the Indiana Fever back to the postseason for the first time since 2016, Caitlin Clark entered this campaign with her sights set on a championship.
During the Fever's 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty on May 24, Clark suffered a quad strain that has forced her to the sidelines since.
Ahead of the team's clash with the Chicago Sky on Saturday, the reigning Rookie of the Year spoke with members of the press about her recovery.
“After that, it’s day by day and see how I feel and just kind of turn to the medical staff and see what they think," Clark said, via The New York Times. "I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress, and I feel good. I’m not going to rush coming back. It’s not worth it.”
Following Saturday's showdown with Chicago, Indiana will face the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday.
If Clark misses that game, she'll have an additional four days to recover before the clash with the New York Liberty on June 14.
