Mariah Rose felt the wrath of Caitlin Clark fans on Tuesday as she posted a video name-dropping the Indiana Fever star. The daughter of former NBA Most Improved Player winner Jalen Rose, Mariah was on the wrong end of a public outcry that stemmed from a video she posted on X.

In bids to 'build up' UConn star Paige Bueckers, Mariah Rose supposedly threw shade at the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, which left fans raging on social media. Declaring Paige the most universally liked person in sports, Rose deemed her as:

"Caitlin Clark before Caitlin Clark."

This comparison left fans fuming as many took to the comments to voice their discontentment:

"You CAN talk about how great Paige is without bringing up Caitlin. But we know Caitlin lives rent-free in your pea-sized brain and you can’t help but put her name in your mouth. Get new material," fumed a fan as many other followed.

Other reactions read:

"You could've said all this without mentioning Caitlin Clark. Tell Paige not to turn her back to the inbounder," wrote another.
"She was never CC before CC stop the cap," demanded a third.
"Y’all lame af. Can y’all ever praise other players without attaching their name to Caitlin. No one was Caitlin before Caitlin LMAO," explained another user.
"Mariah, you’re usually so impartial, what happened to you," expressed a handle named @carefullylauren.
"Just going to leave this here for all the haters in the comments!" it read as she shared the image.

Paige Bueckers gets a custom Nike sneaker

Caitlin Clark was drafted into the WNBA and claimed the Rookie of the Year title. Uconn star Paige Bueckers could follow the same path next season as she is projected to be the number one pick for the 2025 WNBA draft.

Bueckers, who was a top-rated recruit out of high school, had a promising start to her collegiate career before an ACL injury ruled her out. Within that time frame, Caitlin Clark emerged as the next hot prospect and leaped past her to be the face of Women's basketball.

Although Caitlin has become a household name and continues to send shockwaves through the basketball community, Paige Bueckers recently beat her in securing a Nike deal. While Clark is a sponsored Nike athlete herself, the Huskies' star recently got her custom sneaker, a feat that Clark has yet to match.

Launching on December 7, the custom Nike GT Hustle 3 sneaker will make Paige the first college athlete to have her custom shoe.

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark recently signed a $28-million deal with Nike and has a custom shoe in the works herself.
