WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark was not shy of expressing her inner Kansas City Chiefs fangirl. The Indiana Fever star made a post on her X account after the Chiefs snatched away the win from the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Clark's post grabbed the attention of Indiana Fever Chief Operating Officer Amber Cox, who responded to Rookie of the Year's celebratory moment with one of her own. Cox reposted Clark's post and accompanied her three-word reaction in the caption.
"CHIEFSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!," Clark tweeted.
"What she said!🔥," Cox tweeted.
The Indiana Fever hired Amber Cox as their COO on Oct. 4 to succeed General Manager Lin Dunn. As per ESPN, Dunn will move on to become a senior adviser for the franchise. Cox is a veteran when it comes to WNBA management, she has worked in different franchises including the Connecticut Sun and the Phoenix Mercury.
Her most recent job was with the Dallas Wings where she was the COO and managed the marketing, ticket sales and day-to-day operations among various other tasks for the last three years.
Cox also shared her thoughts with ESPN on joining the Fever as their COO for the next season.
"I am excited to be joining the Fever during this historic time in the WNBA, and I am grateful to Kelly, Fever ownership, and Mel Raines for this opportunity," Cox said.
"From the top down, there is a commitment to invest in the Fever to ensure the team's continued growth and success, and I look forward to contributing to a world-class experience for our fans, as well as our players, both on and off the court."
Before her stay with the Wings, Cox was vice president for the Sun and has also served as president for the Mercury. During her tenure, the Phoenix camp lifted the championship in 2007 and 2009.
