Caitlin Clark is having a terrific rookie season in the WNBA, turning the Indiana Fever into a serious playoff contender ahead of the 2024 playoffs. Several players are planning to compete in the 3x3 league 'Unrivaled,' which will debut next year.
Clark might be one of them, but the star guard has refused to commit to the new competition and is focused on helping the Fever this season.
“Honestly I’m just focused on this right now. One thing at a time. Can’t always just be moving on to the next. My focus is right here," Clark told reporters.
Unrivaled is a 3x3 league set to debut next year ahead of the 2025 WNBA season. It was founded by former UConn alums Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier in an attempt to provide players additional income sources.
This is an intriguing option for several players, including college ones. Paige Bueckers, who is yet to leave college to play in the WNBA, signed a deal with this new basketball league. The player will reportedly receive an ownership stake in the teams.
Draymond Green thinks Caitlin Clark should have been on Team USA for 2024 Paris Olympics
Caitlin Clark amassed a large fan base during her college days and the first half of her WNBA rookie season.
Draymond Green believes she needed to be a member of the 2024 USA Basketball women's team alongside Angel Reese, claiming that they could have made a similar impact to the 1992 Dream Team.
“I think Caitlin Clark should have been on the USA team. It’s great for the brand. We talk brand any other time [so] let’s not act like it don’t matter now. 100% it matters," Green said.
"If you think about what the 1992 Barcelona team, “Dream Team” did for the brand of basketball. The W [WNBA] is still in those phases of the NBA. … It must be about spreading this globally and she’s the biggest global star in women’s basketball.”
Reese has expressed her desire to share touches with Clark on Team USA, but we'll have to wait to see if team up for their nation.
