Caitlin Clark's NBA 2K25 rating (91 overall) keeps drawing fans' attention. The Indiana Fever guard was initially given a 90 overall rating, making her one of the highest-rated rookies alongside Angel Reese.
After the developers updated Clark and Reese's ratings, giving the former Iowa Hawkeyes star a one-point advantage, some fans were unhappy.
It didn't take long for them to criticize this update, with somebody saying Sheryl Swoopes had something to do with the ratings.
"They must have consulted Sheryl Swoopes for the ratings," one fan said.
When the Fever starters' ratings were revealed, more fans shared their disagreement, especially with Kelsey Mitchell's 86 OVR RTG, which was five points less than Clark's.
The veteran has been a key player for the Indiana Fever after being drafted with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 WNBA draft. Her game has improved over the years, and she played her second All-Star Game this season.
Fans quickly disagreed with this rating, saying that Mitchell deserved better after her good campaign.
"@Ronnie2K fix this, this is disrespectful towards Kmitch considering the heater she’s been on this season," one fan said.
"Depending on her badges it may even out but damn 86 is wild," another fan said.
"NAH THATS actually INSANE Kelsey Mitchell is and 86!!!!!!!!!👀," another fan wrote.
Caitlin Clark said Kelsey Mitchell should have won Player of the Month over her
Caitlin Clark was named the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month in August. She was integral in leading the Fever to a 5-1 record last month. However, Clark declared that Kelsey Mitchell deserved the award.
“I felt like [Kelsey] probably should have gotten a little bit of love,” Clark said on Wednesday. “I honestly thought she deserved to be Player of the Month. Just what she was doing, and at the clip she was doing it this month — I think she was like 50/40/90 this month, which is really, really hard to do. So I feel very fortunate to play with her. Honestly, I’m not even trying to be corny. I really think she deserved it.”
Mitchell has been on a tear since the WNBA resumed play. She scored 29, 23, 23, 36 and 18 points in her last five games, sometimes taking over from Caitlin Clark as the team's scoring leader.
