Brittney Griner of the Phoenix Mercury was ejected in the second quarter of their game against the LA Sparks on Tuesday. Griner got into a scuffle with Sparks rookie Rickea Jackson, who was also disqualified from the contest. The 10-time All-Star then confronted fans on Instagram, presumably inside the locker room after her ejection.

In a post by OvertimeWBB on Instagram, Griner responded to fans on Instagram comments as the Mercury-Sparks game was still happening. One fan asked why this "man," referring to Griner, was always trying to fight women. And Griner clapped back.

"Cuz mf's want to try me and they can get this action!" Griner wrote.

Another fan brought up Griner getting detained in Russia and she wasn't backing down at all:

It seems like Brittney Griner was still fuming after she scuffled with Rickea Jackson. The altercation happened with less than 20 seconds left in the second quarter. The LA Sparks were up 43-35 with Celeste Taylor on the charity stripe.

Taylor made the free throw and the Sparks were ready to inbound the ball when Griner threw an errant elbow that almost hit Jackson in the face. The rookie didn't appreciate what the veteran did and they almost got into blows before their teammates separated them.

Griner and Jackson didn't stop yapping as they continued to be restrained by their respective teammates. After deliberating and assessing the incident, the referees decided to disqualify both players from the game.

The Phoenix Mercury were down at the start of the third quarter before coming alive to outscore the LA Sparks 28-10 in the period. The Mercury survived a late run by the Sparks in the final quarter to earn an 85-81 win.

Griner had 14 points and two blocks at the time of her ejection, while Jackson went 2-for-11 with eight points. Dearica Hamby of the Sparks had a game-high 21 points, with Sophie Cunningham scoring 14 points for Phoenix.

Brittney Griner could potentially receive a fine from the WNBA for her part in the altercation with Rickea Jackson on Tuesday night. Griner and the Phoenix Mercury have one more game in the regular season and it will be at the Footprint Center on Thursday.

The Mercury will welcome the Seattle Storm, although the game has no bearing at all. Phoenix already clinched a playoff spot and will be the No. 7 seed, while the Storm are officially the fifth seed after losing to the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday.

Phoenix is back in the postseason after a one-year absence. They are set to face the No. 2 seed Minnesota Lynx, a team that has only lost once since the Olympic break.
