Along with being the second pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, Cameron Brink has also built up a large social media following. Her notoriety has grown even more as she has an opportunity to join an iconic group.
Every year, Sports Illustrated adds new athletes to its lineup for its famous swimsuit edition. On Tuesday afternoon, they announced that the LA Sparks forward will be entering the mix in 2025.
Before suffering an ACL injury that sidelined her for most of the season, Cameron Brink showcased her strong fashion sense nightly. Following the announcement, she left a comment to let the world know how excited she was. For her, getting the chance to be part of the swimsuit edition is a dream come true.
Landing this is one of Brink's many ventures in the fashion world. First, she inked an endorsement deal with New Balance. Just a few weeks ago, Brink also teamed up with "Urban Decay" as a brand ambassador.
Cameron Brink has talked about her desire to be an SI swimsuit model in the past
Before being chosen for the 2025 edition, Cameron Brink discussed wanting the opportunity in the past. Before her WNBA debut, she cited it as a goal of hers.
Back in May, Brink sat down with Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George on his "Podcast P" show. At the time, she was fresh off being on the cover of "Slam" Magazine. When PG asked her what other publications she'd like to work with in the future, Brink quickly brought up Sports Illustrated.
"Sports Illustrated swimsuit," Brink said. "I've always loved that. I think it's super empowering."
Posing for the swimsuit edition is not the first bit of modeling Cameron Brink has done since entering the WNBA. Earlier this year, she got the chance to help announce the league's partnership with Kim Kardashian's brand "Skims." Along with Brink, others to partake in this announcement included Candance Parker and Kelsey Plum.
Coming off a career at Stanford where she won a national championship, Brink was the pick after Caitlin Clark in the 2024 draft. In the short time she was on the floor for the Sparks, she displayed high-level two-way play. Brink played in 15 games before getting injured, averaging 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game in that stretch.
