Angel Reese's teammate Chennedy Carter came under fire on Friday as an old quote of hers resurfaced on social media. The Chicago Sky guard's comments on Caitlin Clark's skill did rounds on X (formerly Twitter) as fans slammed her for her statement.

Responding to the question "Which hot take has aged the worst in sports history?," the Caitlin Clark fan page 'Clark Report' shared a graphic of Carter's remark. It quoted her take on the former Iowa star and how she only brought one skill to the table:

"Besides three-point shooting what else does she bring to the table man," she reportedly said.

The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever have become heated rivals due to the inclusion of Reese and Clark in their rosters during the 2024 WNBA Draft. Caitlin and Angel's rivalry dates back to their college days. The LSU-Iowa row now seems to have shifted to the WNBA with the Sky and Fever becoming ultimate rivals in the league.

This resurfaced comment from Reese's Sky teammate Carter, who had a high-profile flagrant foul against Clark last season, served as another example as fans were left annoyed and many took to the comments to sound off their displeasure:

"Chennedy didn’t watch caitlin clark play in college because this was hands down the worst sports take EVER," announced another fan adding a LeBron James GIF.

"Record setting assists and a top 5 layup percentage is what Caitlin Clark brings to the table in addition to three point shooting," wrote a fan.
"Clark brings everything to the table!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" reverted another user.

More comments came in slamming Carter for her comment.

"LOL, how about dribbling, passing, FT shooting, chemistry, class, role model and a pretty face, with great dimples...:) need I go on?" commented a third.

"Funniest part is Chennedy is a hooper hooper that knew and knows and still tweeted that" remarked another fan.
"Haters gonna hate," another fan added.

Caitlin Clark under scrutiny for supporting black players

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark faced huge criticism from the fans, and media alike after her interview with Time Magazine on Tuesday. The former Iowa star was announced as the publication's Athlete of the Year in a move that was highly scrutinized.

In her interview with Time, the young star spoke about her "white privilege" and expressed her support for black women:

"I want to say I’ve earned every single thing, but as a white person, there is privilege, A lot of those players in the league that have been really good have been Black players. This league has kind of been built on them. The more we can appreciate that, highlight that, talk about that, and then continue to have brands and companies invest in those players that have made this league incredible, I think it’s very important." said Clark.

This support however was seen as a woke and liberal move by many people with fans and media criticizing her for picking a side of the political spectrum. Columnist Jason Whitlock was one of the few journalists that openly criticized Clark as he responded to a tweet by 'Clark Report':

"The Clark Report is a great hustle for you. I enjoy your posts. However, many us liked Clark because she could hoop and she wasn't political. She was like Michael Jordan. We didn't care about her supporting our views. We wanted her to resist the WNBA programming of entitlement and victimhood. She didn't. Not really surprising. But now that we know, we're less enamored with Clark as she becomes Megan Rapinoe Lite" he wrote.

Whitlock wasn't the only one who criticized Clark as Washington Mystics owner Sheila Johnson criticized Clark getting the award in an interview with CNN Sport.
