Aliyah Boston has been a focal point for opponents this season, with teams strategically targeting her early. The two-time All-star has struggled with fouls in recent games, impacting her effectiveness on the court.
According to Fox Sports, Boston is averaging a career high 3.9 personal fouls per game, which is significantly higher than her 3.3 pfpg statistic from last season. She has already been ejected once this season and if the situation does not improve, the fans can expect more ejections in the future.
On Saturday, an X user shared a picture of Boston and made a sarcastic comment about the Fever star starting Saturday's game against the Chicago Sky with two fouls without even stepping on the court.
However, Aliyah Boston's mother, Cleone Boston, dropped in the post's comment section and said a prayer for her well-being in the next game.
"That will not be her portion, in Jesus. Amen," Cleone wrote.
The post's author replied to Boston's mother and praised the Fever guard and her mother's kindness. Cleone expressed her gratitude to the post's author and expressed her belief in her daughter.
"Thank you. No matter what comes, we keep trusting. Her steps are ordered by the Lord and all things will work together for her good," she commented.
Keeping her foul troubles aside, Aliyah Boston has had a decent start to her third season in the WNBA. She is averaging 15.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
Aliyah Boston is closer to signing a signature sneaker deal with Adidas
The WNBA's meteoric rise over the past year has benefited both the league and its players. A'ja Wilson and Angel Reese launched signature sneaker lines with Nike and Reebok, respectively, and Aliyah Boston appears poised to join them soon.
Adidas recognizes the star the Fever center has turned into ever since claiming the Rookie of the Year award in 2023. Before Adidas' DON issue 6, the brand had released a special colorway of the Exhibit Select 2.0 dubbed "Virgin Island Pride VI Strong". It featured a map of the two-time All-Star's hometown, St. Thomas.
On Jun. 6, Sole Retriever reported spotting Boston's signature logo on a pair of DON Issue 6 PEs, which could signal a future exclusive sneaker line of the Fever star.
If Adidas releases a signature sneaker line for Aliyah Boston, she would become the fifth active WNBA player with an exclusive shoe.
