Angel Reese created a stir on social media following her entrance ahead of her game against the Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever on Saturday. The Chicago Sky forward entered the United Center in Chicago dressed in an all-black outfit. Reese soaked in the attention and gladly posed for photos before her second look at the injury-hobbled Fever.

Reese finished the game with four points behind 2-for-7 shooting and added 12 rebounds and two assists. Many blasted the Chi Barbie for her performance in the Sky’s 79-52 loss.

On Sunday, she shared photos of her pregame outfit on Instagram and pushed back against the critics.

The glamorous and confident Angel Reese pregame entrance was a stark contrast to how she performed against the Indiana Fever. She shot 2-for-7 (28.6%) and hardly looked at the rim on multiple occasions. Reese got her steady diet of rebounds but struggled to positively impact her team. The Sky, which lost by 27 points, were outscored by 20 during Reese’s 27 minutes of action.

Reese’s performance on Saturday was worse than her season opening debut on May 17. The Sky suffered another blowout loss 93-58 but the Chi Barbie had a more productive statline of 12 points and 17 rebounds.

Angel Reese’s Sky have suffered back-to-back lopsided losses to the Indiana Fever this season

The long-awaited season-opening encounter between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever was only competitive until halfway through the third quarter. Caitlin Clark led the beatdown of the Sky with her 20 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and four steals. Aliyah Boston delivered 19 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks.

Angel Reese had a 12-point and 17-rebound night but was largely quiet. Only her brief scuffle with Clark in the third quarter put the limelight on the Chi Barbie during the game.

Without Caitlin Clark on Saturday, fans wanted to see how the Chicago Sky would do in the rematch. Like in the first game, the Fever ran rings around their supposed rivals. Indiana’s defense was even more suffocating in the second showdown with Chicago, holding the Sky to 15 points or less every quarter.

Angel Reese’s team is 0-2 against the Caitlin Clark-led Fever and has lost by an average of 31.0 points per game.
