Dallas Wings guard DiJonai Carrington answered back to critics who are all over her case for what they perceived to be continued "dirty" on-court plays from her. She highlighted that they are overthinking things, and they just have to move on and chill out with their criticisms.

The reigning WNBA's most improved player wrote a strongly worded cryptic message on X on Monday to fans for continuously giving her flak for the way she approaches her game.

Carrington wrote:

"I can tell yall let how one part of your life is going effect all other parts and I hate that for yall. You only get one life babes 😘"

DiJonai Carrington was spotlighted again recently after being involved in a rough play in their game against the LA Sparks last Friday. The incident took place in the third quarter, where she appeared to have pulled Sparks rookie Sarah Ashlee Barker's ponytail as they contested for a rebound. Carrington was only called for a common foul, but it left many wondering if game officials got it right.

Carrington has established herself as a physical player in five years of playing in the WNBA. She said she is just playing hard and shut down the narrative that she is just being "dirty" with her play.

DiJonai Carrington says the Dallas Wings are holding strong despite a rough start to the season

As DiJonai Carrington pushes back against the "dirty player" narrative, she remains focused on her campaign with the Dallas Wings. She said the team is still holding strong collectively despite a rough start to their ongoing campaign.

The Wings are currently bottom feeding with a 1-9 record in their first 10 games of the season and have lost their last five games.

During her appearance on Minnesota Lynx's Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman's Twitch stream Monday, DiJonai Carrington shared insight into the Wings' mindset amid their tough start to the season.

She said (as shared on X by @thatbreezeway):

"I think the locker room is one of the most important things when you're building a team. Even though we’re losing right now, there are no problems in the locker room. So you're still like, 'all right, we're trying to figure it out'."

Carrington came to Dallas in the offseason through a trade with the Connecticut Sun, where she spent her first four years in the WNBA. She is coming off a solid campaign last season where she was named the most improved player and earned a spot in the All-WNBA Defensive First Team.

In Dallas, she is among the players, along with top rookie pick Paige Bueckers, being counted on to help the Wings in their rebuild push.
