Caitlin Clark, just like Sabrina Ionescu, surprised the hoops world by not accepting the invitation to participate in the 2024 WNBA All-Star 3-point contest. Clark, touted as the female Steph Curry by a legend like Shaquille O'Neal, declined to partake in this event and see other players compete.

Talking with reporters on Friday, Clark explained the reason behind her absence. She cited that she's been active for an entire year and wanted to take some time to rest, adding that she didn't practice.

“I think just rest,” Clark said. “I’ve been playing basketball for a year straight, it’s not an easy thing to just show up to and shoot off of a rack. It’s not something I’ve ever done before. It’s not something I’ve had a lot of time to practice, I’ve been focusing on helping my team win games.
So I think just enjoying this break, I think there’s going to be plenty of opportunities for me to do that at some point… I need a break, and I need to take some time for myself to enjoy what I want to do.”

After Sabrina Ionescu made a record-setting 37 3-pointers last season, seeing her go against Clark was an exciting scenario for plenty of fans. Unfortunately, we won't watch that duel this year, as neither player will take on the challenge.

Clark is gearing to play for the WNBA Stars to try to beat Team USA in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday.

Caitlin Clark shares honest feelings on playing with Angel Reese

While many people insist on pitting them against each other, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese keep showing respect for one another. After Reese said that she and the rest of her teammates could wear their get-along shirt for this game, Clark admitted she was excited about this scenario.

"Yeah it's gonna be fun I think," Clark said. "Obviously as two rookies getting to share this experience for the first time...it's super rare to be here as a rookie. And then to have two of us here I think it's just really great overall. I think obviously, the fans are going to be very excited about it but I'm excited to share the court honestly with everybody."

Caitlin Clark is one of the biggest names on the WNBA team and fans can't wait to see her tandem with Angel Reese.
