With Caitlin Clark sidelined, the Fever stuck to their adjusted starting lineup of Lexie Hull, Natasha Howard, Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell and Sydney Colson. The Sky countered with a starting five of Angel Reese, Courtney Vandersloot, Kia Nurse, Kamilla Cardoso and Ariel Atkins.
The Fever got off to a strong start, with Kelsey Mitchell setting the tone by knocking down all three of her field goal attempts for eight first-quarter points. Her hot hand helped Indiana take a 21-13 lead into the second quarter. The Sky, meanwhile, suffered a major setback when veteran guard Courtney Vandersloot exited early with a concerning injury.
