The Minnesota Lynx and Indiana Fever locked horns in Friday's marquee 2024 WNBA season matchup.
The high-voltage clash at the Grainbridge Fieldhouse got off to an electrifying start. Both teams exchanged leads multiple times in the first quarter, before the Fever took control.
After a cold start, Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark rediscovered their shooting stroke towards the end of the first quarter as the Fever stretched their lead to 27-16 with just over a minute left. However, Cecilia Zandalasini's 3-pointer cut Indiana's lead to 27-19 heading into the second frame.

The Lynx had a much better showing in the second quarter. They trimmed the Fever's lead to one inside the first four minutes after going on a 14-7 run. MVP candidate Napheesa Collier was the architect of the comeback. She had 10 points and five rebounds midway through the second quarter.
Meanwhile, Cecilia Zandalisin's hot shooting stretch continued as she started off 3-for-3. However, the Lynx couldn't sustain their second-quarter surge for long, with the Fever restoring a seven-point lead (43-36) with three minutes left.
The Fever led by 10 with 47 seconds to go, but the Lynx cut that to five points and ended the half trailing 50-45.
Caitlin Clark's explosive first half was key to Indiana staying ahead as she bagged 17 points, four rebounds and four assists on 50.0% shooting. Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell had 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Napheesa Collier was the only Lynx player in double digits with 14 points. She added six rebounds, too.
The Lynx stretched their 5-0 run from the end of the first half to a 12-0 run with a quick scoring burst to start the third. They led the game 52-50 heading into the first timeout with 7:19 left. Indiana endured a cold start to the second half, going 0-for-5, and paid for it.
Indiana tied things at 57-57 after scoring its first points of the half after 4:45 minutes. Aliyah Boston hit the first field goal, while Caitlin Clark followed it up with two free throws.
However, Napheesa Collier scored eight quick points to give the Lynx a 65-57 lead. The Lynx slowly extended their lead to 73-60, their biggest lead of the night. Minnesota took a 74-62 lead into the fourth period after winning a lopsided third quarter 29-12.
The Indiana Fever got the start they needed in the final quarter to make it a close game again. They scored six points in 1:55 to trim the Minnesota Lynx's 12-point lead to six, with 3s from Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull.
The Fever trimmed the Lynx's lead to one twice (78-77 and 81-80), but Minnesota restored its lead to four both times behind clutch 3s from Courtney Williams and Bridget Carleton. The Lynx led 84-80 with with 3:23 left.
The Lynx built an eight-point lead twice and even extended it to 11 points with just over a minute left (96-85). The game was pretty much done at that stage, with a double-digit lead in the last minute proving too much to overcome for Caitlin Clark and the Fever.
The game ended with the Minnesota Lynx winning 99-88 and sweeping their counterparts in the season series.
Napheesa Collier finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Caitlin Clark had 25 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
