Paige Bueckers has long been pitted to be the top pick of the WNBA draft next year. As the league awaits her graduation and eventual arrival in the professional league, Bueckers has received support from Seattle Storm guard Nika Muhl.
Muhl left a four-word comment as the University of Connecticut guard posted a carousel of photos on her Instagram account.
“Don’t play w her,” Muhl wrote.
Bueckers’ post featured pictures from her time at UConn, capturing her connection with the team and the community. In the caption, she expressed gratitude for her career's recent progression.
“Living the dream, THANK YOU GOD,” she wrote.
Muhl, a former UConn player, has been an avid supporter of Bueckers throughout her college career. The two played together with the Huskies.
In Muhl’s final collegiate year, she and Bueckers led the University of Connecticut to the NCAA Final Four, before Muhl was drafted in the second round of the 2024 WNBA draft. Bueckers, on the other hand, chose to finish her college career before turning professional in 2025.
Projected to be the number one pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, Paige Bueckers is set to join the Dallas Wings. In her senior year at UConn, she’s averaging 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists and is also leading the side.
Bueckers’ rising popularity in women’s basketball has propelled her to the position of the second-highest NIL earner this season. Her endorsement deals with Nike, Madison Reed, and Bose are further elevating her profile ahead of the upcoming WNBA season.
