UConn star Paige Bueckers has partnered with haircare brand Madison Reed. Bueckers joins her teammates, Ice Brady, Azzi Fudd and UConn freshman Morgan Cheli, in the new partnership. Sending her a shoutout for the new venture was her former UConn teammate Olivia Nelson-Ododa.
On Wednesday, Bueckers announced the partnership with the brand via a post on her Instagram account. Bueckers wrote in the post’s caption that she partnered with the brand because they share similar values. She also credited the brand for empowering women.
One of the pictures from her post shows four UConn players posing with Madison Reed's owner, Amy Errett. Olivia Nelson-Ododa reacted to Bueckers' picture in the comments section.
“Ooooo cutieeeeeee,” she wrote.
Interestingly, this is not the only collaboration that Bueckers has signed. Even before entering the Women's National Basketball Association, Bueckers has signed with StockX and Gatorade. She also has a partnership deal with the U.S. Army.
According to WWD, Fudd will serve as the brand ambassador for Madison Reed. Along with Fudd, Bueckers will be the brand's main impact advisor. Brady and Cheli will lead the launch of ‘ColorWonder’ for the brand’s hair dye campaign.
Bueckers is arguably the biggest name in college basketball. Despite not having entered the WNBA yet, she is a fan favorite. She will enter next year’s WNBA draft; it will be interesting to see where she lands.
Paige Bueckers shows love to Olivia Nelson-Ododa on her IG post
No love is lost between Paige Bueckers and Olivia Nelson-Ododa. When the Washington Mystics and Connecticut Sun faced each other in June, Bueckers and her UConn teammate were there. After the game, they posed with Aaliyah Edwards from the Mystics and Olivia Nelson-Ododa from Sun, their former teammates.
A few days later, Nelson-Ododa posted pictures on her social media, and Bueckers was among the first few to react. Posting pictures on her IG post, Ododa wrote,
“Swipe for life update.”
"My livvyypoohhh," Bueckers wrote in the comments.
Bueckers joined UConn in 2020 and rose to prominence in 2021. In her second year with UConn, she won Naismith College Player of the Year, USBWA National Player of the Year, John R. Wooden Award and AP Player of the Year.
Nelson-Ododa played for the UConn Huskies from 2018 to 2022. She was selected 19th overall by the LA Sparks in the 2022 WNBA Draft. Since 2023, she has been playing with the Connecticut Sun.
