The Seattle Storm led from start to finish and obliterated the Chicago Sky 95-57 on Thursday. Seattle's defense and balanced scoring proved too much for the home team to overcome. All-Star point guard Skylar Diggins led the Storm onslaught with 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

The Sky, missing Angel Reese (back) and Ariel Atkins (leg) stayed within striking distance in the first half. Behind Kamilla Cardoso, they desperately tried to put up a fight before their visitors' explosive third-quarter performance overwhelmed them. The defeat extended Chicago's losing streak to four games.

Seattle Storm vs Chicago Sky Game Summary

The Seattle Storm opened a three-game East Coast swing with a matchup against the Chicago Sky on Thursday. Skylar Diggins and Co. looked to bounce back after an 87-63 upset loss to the Dallas Wings on Tuesday. The Storm also hoped to take advantage of Angel Reese's absence (back) to extend Chicago's losing slump to four games.

Behind a balanced attack led by Erica Wheeler, the Storm raced to a 21-8 lead after seven minutes. Diggins' two-way impact was also a key reason for the visiting team's fast start. Seattle ended the first quarter holding a 26-18 advantage.

The second quarter was a sloppy stretch for the Sky, which committed seven turnovers. Only Seattle's inefficient scoring prevented the Storm from building an even bigger lead than the 39-26 advantage they took at halftime. Diggins scored seven of the Storm's 13-point output in the period.

Like in the first quarter, the Storm opened the third frame firing on all cylinders. They opened the period with an 8-0 blast, forcing the Sky to an early timeout. Seattle dominated on both ends to enter the fourth quarter with a 70-43 lead.

Seattle's onslaught continued in the first five minutes of the final frame, where a crippling 14-2 run took the fight out of the Sky.
