The Indiana Fever found a proper way to announce they will host Simone Biles, considered the greatest gymnast of all time, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse next Tuesday. The team posted a picture of former champion Tamika Catchings walking a goat on its Instagram account.
Catchings, who led the franchise to the 2012 WNBA championship, can be seen walking the goat while a billboard of Caitlin Clark behind them reads "Is there a rookie record for rookie records?"
WNBA fans were ecstatic with this announcement, but some weren't hyped about having Biles in the arena in five days. Instead, they focused on Catchings, the greatest player in franchise history who could surpass the retired forward.
Some went crazy after seeing Clark and Catchings in the same picture and reacted on Instagram.
Others saluted Catchings' career with the team on Instagram and on X, formerly Twitter.
"This is cute af," a fan tweeted.
"I have never watch WNBA boz of CC i came to know abt WNBA," another fan tweeted.
After three participations in the Summer Olympic Games, Biles became one of the most honored athletes. She's now a seven-time gold medalist, two-time silver medalist and two-time bronze medalist.
The Gold Over America Tour (or GOAT) celebrates Biles' career and will be held in 30 arenas across the United States. Men and women including Jordan Chiles, Brody Malone, Peng-Peng Lee and Shane Wiskus will be a part of these shows.
Caitlin Clark reveals offseason plans after terrific rookie season with Fever
Following a remarkable 2024 WNBA season, Caitlin Clark is ready to take her game to the next level. Although she has already said she will focus on her golf game, she's still in the lab during the offseason. In a video shared by the team's official X account on Wednesday, Clark explained what she's working on.
"I feel like I'm just scratching the surface," she said. "I feel like there's just so many areas that I want to improve in, and to continue to get in the gym and work on that every single day."
Indiana made the playoffs for the first time in eight years this past season and looks ready to raise the bar in 2025. Clark was already considered an MVP candidate and nobody knows what her ceiling is.
