Angel Reese is one of the biggest names in the women's basketball world right now. She is not only discussed for her defensive abilities on the court, but also her impeccable style and appearance off it.
The Chicago Sky star is often seen wearing well-applied makeup, which showcases her expertise in that field. So when Reese fixed an eyelash for ESPN's Holly Rowe during a post-game interview after her team's 85-66 loss to the NY Liberty on Tuesday, fans did not hold back.
A Reddit user uploaded a video of the incident on the WNBA subreddit, and fans flocked to the comments section:
"Hahahah what a homegirl."
Others joined in to praise Reese:
"This was super sweet. I love how Holly thanked her for it again after the interview was over 😊" one fan commented.
"Alright that's wholesome," another fan said.
"Lmao this was funny and cute," another fan said.
After witnessing the moment, one fan attributed it to Reese being herself.
"Angel being herself. I liked it."
"Yeahhh AR they could never make me hate you🥹," another commented.
Angel Reese had a great individual night despite her team's loss. She led the Sky in both offense and defense, which resulted in her fourth double-double this season. She ended the night with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists.
"We’re here to play basketball": Ariel Atkins defends Angel Reese during postgame press conference
Angel Reese has inarguably become one of the WNBA's faces since entering the league last year. However, with immense fame comes scrutiny. The Sky star has been at the center of many controversies, negative rumors, and non-basketball speculation. Sometimes the speculation makes its way to the post-game press conference.
After the Sky's loss to Liberty on Tuesday, a reporter asked Angel Reese a non-basketball question, and Ariel Atkins stepped in to defend her sophomore star.
"Can I say something This is a 23-year-old kid. And the amount of crap that she gets on a day-to-day, she still shows up," Atkins said. "So, whatever questions y’all got about our team, basketball-wise, we appreciate it. But all the other nonsense, like, it’s irrelevant. We’re here to play basketball and do what we do."
Atkins led her team and Reese in a supporting role on Tuesday. She was the only player on the Sky squad, apart from Reese, to score in double digits in their loss against the Liberty. She ended the night with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
