In the lead-up to their epic triple threat match at Wrestlemania 20, Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit and Triple H were involved in memorable singles matches. One among those matches took place on ‘Raw is War’ at Bakersfield, California on 16/2/2004. It was a match between the ‘Heart Break Kid’ Shawn Michaels and ‘Pegasus Kid’ Chris Benoit. In the end, Shawn emerged victorious over a battered and bruised Benoit. But all did not end well for Shawn as he was pedigreed by Triple H after the victory. Until then Shawn was speculated to be working in tandem with Triple H as a group. But Triple H made an emphatic statement, indicating that it would be every man for himself at the Triple Threat World Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestlemania 20.
