On July 26, 2004, during the ‘Raw is War’ show at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, ‘The Rabid Wolverine’ Chris Benoit defended his World Heavyweight Championship against ‘The Cerebral Assassin’ Triple H, in a 60 minute Iron Man match. The Game dominated early on in the match, taking a 3-1 lead over Benoit. However, Benoit proved his mettle as he used his submission arsenal to gain a famous victory over Triple H. The interference of Evolution midway through the match did not deter Chris Benoit. He was ably assisted by Eugene. Benoit retained his title after winning the bout 4-3, leaving Triple H battered and bruised in the end.
