India disappoint on day four of World Wrestling Championships

Indian grapplers fail to deliver yet again

It was a disheartening day for the Indian wrestlers at the Senior Wrestling World Championships 2013 in Budapest, as all the three women freestyle wrestlers in action lost in the qualification rounds.

Pooja Dhanda lost to Husyak Iryna of Ukraine in the 55-kg catergory while Geeta bowed out after managing to emerge only second best to Azerbaijan’s Ratkevich Yuliya in the 59-kg catergory.

Jakhar Geetika’s loss to Mamashuk Maria of Belarus in the 63-kg category diffused any hopes of an Indian victory for the day.

The 2013 Senior World Wrestling Championships that begun in the Hungarian capital city of Budapest on September 16 is set to conclude on September 22.

Earlier Amit Kumar, the 19-year-old from Nahri, had given India their first medal by winning the silver medal in the 55-kg category at the Papp Laszlo Arena in Budapest.
