Indian wrestler Sandeep Tulsi Yadav is in contention for a bronze medal at the Senior Wrestling World Championships 2013 in Budapest.

Sandeep defeated Navarro Sanchez of Spain 5-0 and Moldova’s Mihail Cosniceanu 6-2 to qualify for the quarter-finals in the 55-kg category, where he bowed out 0-10 to Han-Su Ryu of South Korea.

However, he made complete use of the qualification (losers of quarter-finals) he gained to the repechage round by defeating Sharur Vardanyan of Sweden 6-4 that has given him a shot at a bronze medal match against Aleksandar Maksimovic of Serbia later on Sunday.

Whereas the other Indian grapplers in action, Chhikara and Naveen lost to Finland’s Veli-Karri Souminen 0-5 and Riza Kayaalp of Turkey 0-4, respectively.
