The wrestlers of India are organizing a solidarity march that will be held in the capital city of New Delhi on the 23rd of March 2013 from Ram Lila Ground to Jantar Manter. The campaign will witness attendance of the many renowned athletes from the wrestling fraternity of India, including the likes of two time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar and 2012 London Olympic bronze medalist Yogeshwar Dutt. Sports persons from other disciplines along with numerous sports fans are also expected to be a part of this amazing endeavour. The march is an initiative of Naveen Suhag an international wrestler and the founder of www.indiawrestling.com, a web forum created for cause of reinstating wrestling in the Olympic program.

The campaign is being organised in order to provide the Indian Janta and the wrestling fraternity of the country an opportunity to display their love and passion for the sport and to refute IOC Executive Board’s decision taken on 12th Feburary 2013 to drop wrestling – one of the oldest Olympic sport – from the 2020 Olympic program. We appeal to all the wrestling aficionados and every sports loving person in the nation to support the cause of wrestling and participate in this endeavour to reinstate this noble sport.

With this campaign the wrestling fraternity intends to show its solidarity with thousands of wrestling fans around the world battling for the cause of the sport and urge the IOC to include wrestling in the 2020 Olympic Games.
