India has witnessed some brilliant wrestling stars over the years and in recent times too, the country has been producing some extraordinary wrestling talent.

Some of that quality wrestling acumen was on display during Day 3 of the 2018 Asian Wrestling Championships being held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. From the iconic "Dangal" family where wrestlers Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari have already made a name for themselves, young Vinesh Phogat who is a cousin of the two wrestling stars is making a name for herself too, and the 23-year-old made India proud today by winning the silver medal at the Asian Championships in Bishkek.

On her way to the silver medal, Phogat performed admirably and in a tight semi-final bout against Yuki Irie of Japan, she pulled off a stunning, athletic takedown to gain a few points.

As can be seen from the video above, Phogat had to dig down deep into her wrestling arsenal and the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist managed to pull off an athletic move, to say the least, and one that the Japanese grappler had no answer for in the end. Following her close-fought victory in the semis, all eyes were on Phogat in the final where she ended up just slightly short of the ultimate prize, losing 3-2 to Chun Lei of China. Both competitors waited it out before Lei edged out Phogat at the very end to win the gold medal.
