Yogeshwar Dutt qualifies for Rio 2016 and then wins Gold in the 65kg Freestyle category at the Asian qualifier

Yogeshwar Dutt in action

A couple of hours after booking his spot at Rio 2016, India’s Yogeshwar Dutt has now won the Gold after defeating Yeerlanbieke Katai of China in the 65kg Free Style category at the Asian Olympic Qualifiers in Astana.

Earlier in the day the Indian had qualified for the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janerio after entering the finals in the same category after defeating Lee.S of Korea 7-0 to book the quota for his fourth successive Games. Prior to that, he had also defeated another Korean 8-1 to move into the quarterfinals.

India had failed to get a quota in any of the categories on Friday despite 5 wrestlers in action. Dutt, who won the bronze in the 2012 London Olympics, now becomes only the second Indian after Narsingh Yadav, who clinched the quota at the World Championships in Las Vegas.
