Alex Bregman discusses the Astros' early struggle this season

Alex Bregman seems to have a slow start to the season and so does the Houston Astors. The Astros dropped their opening series and have been on a downfall ever since. The team is now at the bottom of the AL West with a miserable 6-14 record.

Their last series at home turned out to be a disaster as they failed to win against the Atlanta Braves. Bregman appeared in a recent interview where he talked about the team's struggles and execution. The Astros slugger seemed perplexed when asked about the bad start to the season.

"I think all that matters is execution on the field and preparation prior to the game and win it," Bregman said.

When asked about the team's overall performance, Bregman said they had not executed well in all phases.

"We have not executed well in all phases of the game. I think we have to execute better and play better as a team in all facets of the game," Alex Bregman continued.

Alex Bregman gets shuffled into the Astros lineup

Alex Bregman was shuffled into the Astros' lineup as manager Joe Espada tried to experiment against the Braves. Bregman was placed third instead of Kyle Tucker. The whole plan was to get his bat moving; however, there has been no significant progress despite the shuffle.

“Just a different look, trying to sandwich Breggy in there between Yordan and Tucker," Espada said. "Trying to get Breggy going, just a little something different. “We did it in the spring and it worked out well. And just trying to change things up a little bit and see if we can spark here."

Bregman is holding a batting clip of just .250 with a .661 OPS. The slugger is yet to smash a home run this season. He recorded only 16 hits and four RBIs while driving in two runs in 64 appearances at the plate.

When compared to his previous performances, Bregman has been struggling to get the ball moving. So far, he has recorded only eight walks in total.

The Astros hold one of the worst records in the majors but they have enough time to rebound from all their loss.
