Is Ja Morant being charged with a crime in gun controversy? Full statement by Glendale Police Department released

The Glendale Police Department's investigation into Ja Morant's activities has ended with no charges being made..

Local police authorities have concluded their investigation regarding Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant after not finding enough evidence to charge him with a crime. The Glendale Police Department in Colorado issued a statement Wednesday concerning Morant's actions at a gentleman's club on Saturday morning.

Morant live-streamed himself apparently holding a gun on his Instagram account on Saturday. However, the police did not have sufficient evidence or receive a complaint to file a charge against the guard.

The NBA's investigation, meanwhile, is ongoing.

"There was not enough available evidence to charge anyone with a crime," the Glendale Police Department's statement said.

Morant partied with Shotgun Willie hours after the Grizzlies lost 113-97 to the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. Memphis lost to the LA Clippers 135-129 on Sunday without Morant, who did not play after the franchise announced he would be away from the team for at least two games.

There were questions as to how he was able to have a handgun despite them being on the road.

Morant has been away from the team indefinitely.

When can we see Ja Morant back on the court?

Ja Morant is one of the biggest reasons why the Grizzlies have been successful this season. However, his off-court antics have affected his ability to contribute to his team right now. They've fallen to third place in the Western Conference standings, which isn't that much of a huge deal.

Since his recent issues, Morant has been suspended by the team, which is why he's been away from them. The 2019-20 Rookie of the Year has only missed two games, and Memphis has lost both of those games against the Los Angeles teams. It's not much, but it could greatly affect their focus coming into the postseason.

Right now, there isn't a definite timeline of when he'll be back in action for the team. But the team needs their star point guard to capture their winning momentum once again.

With the investigation regarding his controversial Instagram live now coming to a stop, there's hope that Morant will be back with the team before the playoffs start. The Grizzlies can still re-gain their second spot from the Sacramento Kings, as there isn't much difference to their record, they just need to start winning again.
