About Memphis Grizzlies Depth Chart
The Memphis Grizzlies are coming off three straight playoff appearances. In the 2023-24 season, they have built an impressive Grizzlies depth chart to try and make another deep postseason run. Their starting lineup features a terrific mix of youth and experience.
The Memphis Grizzlies depth chart is anchored by shooting guard, the Grizzlies are led by Desmond Bane. The 25-year-old is entering his fourth NBA season after being drafted 30th overall in 2020. Bane is emerging as a star player in the league.
The frontcourt is anchored by Jaren Jackson Jr., who earned All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year honors last season at age 23. The 6'11" big man is a game-changer as a rim protector. His ability to score points in the paint also helps the team on the offensive end making it to the rim to score easy points.
Vince Williams Jr. starts as a small forward, providing valuable playmaking as a passer from the wing position. In the backcourt, Scotty Pippen Jr. runs the point. He is known for his persistent attacking mentality and ability to finish at the rim.
Rounding out the starters is power forward Santi Aldama, a versatile 6'11" forward who can score inside and out. His length aids the Grizzlies' stifling defense.
The bench is headlined by rookie big man GG Jackson. At 6'9" he provides much-needed size and paint protection behind Jackson Jr.. Veteran John Konchar backs up Pippen Jr. at point guard, bringing energy and experience.
Jake LaRavia and Brandon Clarke are two more forwards who will see significant minutes backing up the frontcourt. LaRavia gives them additional depth and shooting. Clarke is an athletic 6'8" big man who can protect the rim and finish plays above the rim.
In the backcourt, sharpshooter Luke Kennard was brought in to provide outside shooting off the bench behind Bane after being selected 12th overall in 2022.
With a terrific blend of young talent and savvy veterans, the Grizzlies have assembled excellent depth. The Grizzlies might not make it to the playoffs this season, but the young building Grizzlies team will be a potential spoiler in the Western Conference. Their calling card will once again be a swarming defense anchored by the reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Jackson Jr.
