About Atlanta Hawks Depth Chart
The Atlanta Hawks depth chart for 2023-24 NBA season is stacked, with their success largely dependent on the dynamic backcourt duo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, affectionately dubbed "DejounTrae" by fans. This pair serves as the backbone of the Hawks depth chart and will play a crucial role in determining the Hawks success in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Out of the two All-Stars in the back-court, Trae Young is the one who will be the leader of the team. Young is a crafty playmaker known for his deadly floater shot and deep three-point shooting. His exceptional dribble combos skills and court vision make him a constant threat on the offensive end. Dejounte Murray, acquired in a blockbuster trade from the San Antonio Spurs last season, provides valuable support to Young as he brings his defensive tenacity, playmaking ability and clutch shooting factor to the Hawks’ backcourt.
At the center position, the Atlanta Hawks boast the experience of Swiss center Clint Capela, who is an amazing rebounder and thrives on finishing alley-oops from Trae Young. Joining Capela in the frontcourt is the rapidly developing young talent Jalen Johnson, a sophomore power forward with explosive athleticism and great potential to be a two-way enforcer. At small forward, either De'Andre Hunter or Saddiq Bey starts and provides two-way versatility and scoring punch to the Hawks depth chart.
Then, off the bench, Atlanta Hawks feature one of the NBA's best sixth men in Bogdan Bogdanovic, a Serbian sharpshooter capable of lighting it up from 3-point territory. Bogdanovic’s scoring prowess make him a valuable asset for the Hawks' second unit. Supporting Bogi are young talents like Vit Krejci, and experienced Wesley Matthews and Garrison Matthews, who provide 3-point shooting and great defense off the bench. Another youngster Onyeka Okongwu serves as the backup center behind Clint Capela, bringing energy and shot-blocking ability to the frontcourt rotation of Hawks depth chart.
