About Houston Rockets Depth Chart

The emergence of Alperen Sengun will be crucial in the Houston Rockets depth chart for the 2023-24 NBA season. The Turkish center Sengun’s rise will be key for Rockets' resurgence. Alongside former No. 2 pick Jalen Green, Sengun forms a promising young duo that will lead the Rockets depth chart into the future. The Rockets depth chart is filled with young players brimming with potential as the franchise looks to establish themselves as an elite team once again.

Operating as the center, 21-year-old Alperen Sengun takes on a leadership role for the Rockets. Drawing comparisons to a young Nikola Jokic, Sengun is a terrific passer who can make some outrageous pinpoint passes at times while being an elite scorer in the paint. His fundamental footwork and shooting ability make him a threat from anywhere on the court. Complementing Sengun is shooting guard Jalen Green, whose explosive athleticism and offensive IQ make him a rising offensive star in the league.

The duo of Sengun and Green received significant support in the 2023 NBA offseason as the Rockets capitalized on their cap space. The addition of veteran Fred VanVleet in free agency bolsters the point guard position, providing valuable experience and leadership to guide Jalen Green's development. Dillon Brooks, known as "Dillon the Villain," brings his tenacious defense and three-point shooting to the small forward position.

Brooks will be the “glue guy” for the team, an X-factor who is the team's emotional leader, while adding depth and versatility to the Rockets' lineup. Jabari Smith Jr., the third overall pick in the 2022 draft, rounds out the starting lineup as the power forward. Smith Jr is improving with each game as an efficient stretch four.

Furthermore, the Rockets boast one of the best young benches in the NBA, with promising rookies like Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore providing their two-way hustle and never-ending energy off the bench. Both of them are versatile players filled with raw potential and as they improve, the Rockets depth chart will start delivering great results in the 2023-24 NBA season. Additionally, Jock Landale provides reliable backup for Alperen Sengun at the center position, offering valuable minutes and depth in the frontcourt.

The 2023-24 Houston Rockets won’t be title contenders in the 2024 NBA playoffs but their young players can show promise for the future and at the same time, they might surprise teams in the Western Conference. The Houston Rockets depth chart will be used by the creative mind of coach Ime Udoka who can use these young Rockets players and make a team for the future.
