Over the past week, Kyrie Irving has been the biggest story in the NBA. Following his recent actions that included tweeting out a link to an antisemitic movie, the Brooklyn Nets guard has scheduled a sit-down with commissioner Adam Silver.

Since the incident, the Brooklyn Nets have suspended Irving for five games without pay and have given him a list of tasks to complete before he can return. Adam Silver also came out and said he wanted to speak with him regarding this matter.

It was initially unclear when the two were going to sit down and speak, but NBA insider Marc Stein recently reported that the two will be gathering on Tuesday.

While Adam Silver is doing the right thing by sitting down with Kyrie Irving, the damage has already been done. At this point, it feels like nobody's mind can be changed on the former No. 1 pick.

The Brooklyn Nets star had a chance to rectify his mistake, but he did not. During his first media commitment since the incident, he did not apologize for what he had done.

A formal apology did not come until the news broke of his suspension. Given the circumstances, it's hard to say if it was sincere.

Following this latest dust-up, the question has to be asked if the story is already written on Irving. He is a superstar player who has grown to be too big of a distraction with his off-the-court antics.

This is now the second year in a row that the 30-year-old has found himself in the headlines because of his actions outside of basketball. Last season, he was mired in controversy after refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Despite having a few years left at his peak, Irving could see his career come to an abrupt end. Some executives in the league already think he's played his last game in the NBA.

There is no telling if the star guard will be able to recover from this, but having a good meeting with Adam Silver could be a step in the right direction.
