Shaquille O’Neal reminisces how he approached Halle Berry after developing affinity for her: “I fell infatuated with [her]"

Shaquille O'Neal is one of the greatest basketball players who's ever played, according to most that have followed the game. One thing people don't realize, however, is his obsession with the one and only Halle Berry.

Shaquille has previously spoken about playing in front of celebrities. For what it's worth, celebrities are typically seen at LA Lakers games. The Lakers might attract the most stars in the world, especially when they had a team with Shaquille and Kobe Bryant.

"I wanted to give the superstars the same enjoyment that they gave me," he said. "Like, when I walk into the game and I see Denzel (Washington) and Jack Nicholson. Like, when I'm at home watching the Netflix, they give me so much enjoyment.

"So, I would always say, 'OK, they're here to watch me and Kobe (Bryant) win the championship, I gotta make sure I always play well.'"

Shaquille O'Neal spoke about a time when Halle Berry came to watch him play.

O'Neal also had a way with the ladies back in his days. As one of the greatest basketball players of all time, it's not too hard for him to find a girl who might want to date him. Still, he was obsessed with Halle Berry.

"My heart started fluttering," O'Neal said. "I get nervous. I call a time out. Coach said, 'What are you doing?!' I said, 'Shut up, Halle Berry is here to watch me. Nobody shoots. Make sure I get the ball.' And guess what? I actually made the free throw. I made the free throw. I was looking at Halle like (winks)."

It makes sense why he felt the way he did. Berry is one of the world's best-looking actresses, so it makes sense why Shaquille had the reaction he did.

"It's a true story," O'Neal said. "I fell infatuated with Halle Berry by watching a movie in college. So, I got this little fan club thing, whatever, and I wrote her a letter and she wrote me one back. I still have it in my house to this day. I was saying to myself (that) I would just like to talk to her or whatever.

"Even though I never talked to her at that point in college, like, but I wrote her, and she wrote me back. And then I met (her). I was like, 'Miss Berry.' She comes like, 'Yeah.' She remembers, because she's a sports fan. She's like, 'I remember you wrote me, and I wrote you back.'

"I almost couldn't control myself. I let you figure that out. As soon as she spoke to me I almost let it go."
