Amitabh Bachchan's reply to Andrew Flintoff's sarcastic tweet

Virat Kohli India chase win
Kohli was the Man of the Match for another brilliant innings

Virat Kohli's unbeaten 82 helped India seal the semi-final berth in the ICC World T20 and beat Australia by six wickets in their final group game at Mohali. Chasing 161 after losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, India needed a big performance from their top order and Kohli delivered for the umpteenth time.

Like most of the time when he has scaled improbable mountains, Kohli paced his innings brilliantly and came to life in the final five overs when the going was getting difficult. While he couldn’t run as many twos with Yuvraj Singh injuring himself, the southpaw’s dismissal brought the Indian captain MS Dhoni to the crease.

The pair ran between the wickets brilliantly and although it was Dhoni who hit the winning four, it was Virat, who scripted the run chase expertly and helped India reach yet another World T20 semi-final and he was rightly awarded the Man of the Match.

After India’s win over Australia, there were plenty of reactions from the cricketing fraternity, praising the majestic chase marshalled by Kohli, but they weren't the only ones.

Immediately after the match, Amitabh Bachan was ecstatic:

Of the many cricketers that tweeted about Virat Kohli's majestic innings that saw India home, former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff was one of them as he compared Virat Kohli to Joe Root, to which this is what Bachchan had to say:

For those who do not understand, the tweet basically asks the question who is Root and says we will uproot Root

Like Mitchell Johnson before the game, it was another case of a tweet gone wrong for Flintoff, who got the perfect response. But that didn't stop the former English all-rounder from tweeting back, questioning who the Bollywood actor was.

While that tweet was sent in jest, it certainly looks as though this conversation will go on for some time as the cricketer got plenty of abuse from fans, which he acknowledged soon after.
