Video: Two runs required from one over, but batsman plays out a maiden over

FoMA

This was during Benson & Hedges World Series Cup 1990, 10th One Day International match between Australia and New Zealand where the Aussies were humiliated to faced defeat. New Zealand batted first and set a target of 194 runs.

Australia had started well with the bat and started stumbling during the last moment. They needed 2 runs to win from 1 over then came Bruce Reid (11th batsmen) on the crease, but he played out a maiden over which looked like an easy task to win. This match remained as one of the worst finishes in cricket history.
