Twitch streamer who goes by the alias CashMeow or Cash, was recently spat on by a stranger while IRL streaming from Tokyo, Japan. The incident happened a couple of days ago on April 20, and clips of CashMeow confronting the culprit and going to the police were shared on social media websites like X and Reddit, causing outrage.

In the clip, the streamer appeared to be minding his own business standing on the side of the road in Shibyua when a man in a black hoodie came up to him and spat on his face. People near Cash were immediately concerned for him, and the streamer proceeded to confront the man in the hoodie, demanding an apology:

"Yo, you got to apologize to me or I got to go to the police, man. You won't stop."

The hooded man started to give a mock apology and proceeded to spit on the Twitch streamer again. Without saying another word, CashMeow followed him for a while before going to the police and explaining the situation.

Drunk guy gets apprehended by Japanese police after spitting on Twitch streamer CashMeow

CashMeow, who had caught everything on camera and even took a picture of the person who spat on him, was not about to let the person go and proceeded to inform the law enforcement officials in a nearby police box. While the man in the black hoodie had seemingly run off, a policeman retrieved his phone which had fallen on the street.

While the Twitch streamer was waiting outside and wiping his face, a group of men informed him that the culprit was drunk and they had no idea why he would spit on him. Cash did not end his livestream, but proceeded to go into the police station this time to file a formal report.

And his efforts were not in vain, as some time later the police had apprehended the suspect after the content creator identified him walking about in the streets. While an official escorted him, CashMeow went to confront the man who spat on him again, putting his arms around him and joking about talking in the police station:

"What's up dawg? Hey! Why don't we go to the police station, huh? Why don't we go to the police station real quick?"

The man in the black hoodie was inebriated and was heavily slurring his speech. The Twitch streamer noted that the guy had left his phone on the road, and also told the man that he was not pressing charges:

"You forgot your cellphone. I did not press charges, don't worry. You spit on me, dude. It's all good, I didn't press charges, I didn't press charges."

Spitting in public is frowned upon in Japanese culture, and intentionally spitting on someone else can be grounds for assault charges in most countries. While CashMeow may not have pressed charges, it is unclear whether the police fined the man.
