Arsenal's Serge Gnabry - One for the future

As many of you may know, Arsenal have signed 16 year old German youngster, Serge Gnabry before the start of last season.

Serge has a rare talent most players can only wish for. The presence, pace, physicality and determination of this boy is second to none.

The German born midfielder was brought into the Arsenal Under 18′s from VfB Stuttgart’s academy last summer and impressed Steve Bould so much that within the first few games he was promoted to the reserves.

Now, at such a young age, doubts are almost certain to be flooding your way i.e. does he have the physicality for the Premier League? But, if you want me to answer that question, yes, he does have the physicality, in my opinion.

You may be thinking I’m off my head for judging a 16 year old, but so would you if you’ve seen him in action.

Another mesmerizing feature of the German is his pace. Before he opted to football as his career, Serge was a sprinter. He’d never lost a race in his whole career!

This year, since promotion, Serge has been at the heart of the reserves midfield, and played a major part in their wins against the likes of Chelsea, West Brom and Wolves.

With Arsenal recently joining NextGen Series, it will be great for players like Gnabry to gain valuable experience if he is to push on for a place in the starting 11, especially when he’s going to be playing against teams such as Barcelona, Ajax, Inter and PSG.

The one bad thing I can say about Serge is he’s a boyhood Barcelona fan, and we all know how that panned out last time……

I hope we see more of him in the future and quite frankly, I wouldn’t put it past him to participate in pre-season with the first team or even the Carling Cup next year.
