Juventus are through to the quarters after winning 5-1 aggregate against Dortmund

Juventus trashed Borussia Dortmund in Germany to qualify for the last eight in emphatic fashion. The Italian Champions went ahead through an impressive Carlos Tevez strike in the opening three minutes. With Dortmund putting bodies forward in search for a goal in the second half, Juventus enjoyed lot of room in attack. After missing many opportunities, Juve finally sealed the game through Alvaro Morata’s goal.

Tevez added another to rub salts in Dortmund wounds as Juventus qualified to the quarter finals with an aggregate score of 5-1.

Let us look at how the players performed on the night:

Borussia Dortmund

Roman Weidenfeller - 7/10

He could have done better with the opener scored from Tevez. However, he made for that by making crucial saves from Morata in the second half.

Sokratis Papadopoulos - 5/10

Except for few moments when he was caught out of position, he otherwise looked decent in defence. However, he offered little in attack.

Mats Hummels - 6.5/10

He looked solid at the back and hardly came out of a challenge on the losing side. When others around him were caught out of position, he only stood tall in defence.

Neven Subotic - 5.5/10

He formed good partnership with Hummels and cleared every ball which was thrown at him. However, his positioning was questionable at times in the game.

Marcel Schmelzer - 5/10

He was average in defence and came forward at every possible moment and was substituted at half time.

Ilkay Gundogan - 6/10

He did his defensive job pretty well and kept the ball moving, but was ineffective in the other end of the field.

Sven Bender - 6/10

Just like his midfield partner, Bender defended and closed down his opponents well, but didn't offer much in the attack.

Kevin Kampl - 6/10

He offered great width on his side and was lively throughout the match. However, he failed to make any noteworthy contribution in the game.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan - 5/10

Just like the first leg, Mkhitaryan did not have a night to remember. He hardly got involved in the play and was anonymous for most of the game. During a great counter attack in the second half, Mkhitaryan failed to find any of his teammates. Few minutes later, he was rightly taken off.

Marco Reus - 5/10

He saw lot of the ball but never managed to do much with it. Some of his deliveries from set piece situations in the first half was poor.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 4/10

With Juventus defending resolutely, he hardly got any chance at goal. He was anonymous for most parts of the game in the makeshift role.

Substitutes

Oliver Kirch (45') - 5/10

He looked comfortable in defence but did not offer much in attack.

Jakub B?aszczykowski (63') - 5/10

After coming on in the second half, he hardly got involved in the game to make an impact on the match.

Adrian Ramos (63') - 5/10

He was brought on to change the match outcome in the second half, however like his teammates he failed to do much.

Juventus

Gianluigi Buffon - 6/10

With his defenders keeping Dortmund at bay, he virtually had nothing to do on the match. He however, did well whenever he was called upon.

Stephan Lichtsteiner - 7/10

He defended well and offered good support to his attackers on the right side. If not for Weidenfeller, he could have had a goal in the first half.

Giorgio Chiellini - 7.5/10

He commanded his area admirably well and was solid at intercepting or clearing any balls which were thrown at him.

Bonucci - 7/10

He formed good partnership with Chiellini and defended well to keep Dortmund at bay for most parts of the game.

Patrice Evra - 7/10

Evra looked decent in defending and offered great support on the left side to his attackers by regularly surging forward.

Roberto Pereyra - 7/10

He ran the show brilliantly from the middle of the park. He defended resolutely well and played a major part in two of the three goals Juve scored.

Claudio Marchisio - 6/10

Except initiating few counter attacking moves from the back, he hardly made an impact in the attacking third. But he defended well and offered great protection to his centre-halves.

Paul Pogba - 5/10

Pogba looked lively in the match before being taken off early in the first half with a possible hamstring injury.

Arturo Vidal - 6/10

Vidal produced a lively performance by closing down the opponents regularly. Except for a few mistimed tackles in the first half, he defended well.

Carlos Tevez - 9.5/10 (Man of the match)

Tevez single-handedly destroyed Dortmund on the night. His early thunderbolt gave the upper hand to Juve. But, he did not stop there as he was full of energy and a nightmare for Dortmund defenders. His hard work was rewarded with another goal and an unselfish assist.

Alvaro Morata - 8/10

Just like his strike partner, Morata was a live-wire on the night. He hardly gave a moment peace to Dortmund defenders. He scored the second goal to seal the contest for the Italian champions.

Substitutes

He came on for Pogba in the first half and defended well for his team.
