Cristiano Ronaldo has gone on to say that he doesn’t care about anything that happens at Barcelona and is only worried about Real Madrid. Los Blancos are due to contest in the Champions League final on Saturday in Milan against bitter rivals Atletico Madrid and Ronaldo has been instrumental in his side’s road to the final scoring 16 goals in just 11 games including three hat-tricks, a record in a single season.

When asked about his thoughts on the Catalans, Cristiano said, “I don't care about anything to do with Barcelona. I only care about Real Madrid.”

The Portuguese suffered a collision in training on Tuesday and was seen limping out of the ground, leaving the entire fan base of Madrid to pray that their star player is fine. The 31-year-old though calmed any fears of him having an injury and said he would be fine for the final.

Speaking to the media he said, “I had a small injury problem during the season, but that's normal when you play over 4000 minutes - more than anyone else in the squad. I feel ready and I will be at my best level for the game of our lives.”

Ronaldo realises that it won’t be an easy game against the Colchoneros as they have a fixed style of play, founded on a strong defence and good counter-attacking players. Indeed, the team have managed to cause quite a few upsets on their way to the final, defeating two potential favorites in Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the quarter-final and the semi-final.

“Atletico have been the same team for years, they play the same way,” he added about Diego Simeone’s side.

“It will be a tough match and there will not be very many opportunities. It is no coincidence that both Bayern [Munich] and Barcelona couldn't score many past them, but I am confident that at our best we can win.”

The last time both these teams squared off in the final was 2 years ago, when an injury time equalizer by Sergio Ramos helped Real beat Atleti 4-1 at the end of extra time to clinch La Decima.

“Both the Madrid teams were the best two years ago and this year it is the same, with both reaching the final of the Champions League. Now we will so who is the best again,” said Ronaldo.

The ex-Manchester United player remained confident though saying, “We deserve to win, otherwise we wouldn't be here. I think we will win. We started slowly [this season], but Zidane has improved us.”

If Real were to lift another Champions League title, they will need Ronaldo to fire on all cylinders. The Portuguese has been in sublime form this season, scoring 51 goals in all competitions, going past the 50 goal mark for a record sixth season in a row. He has a chance to break his single season record of 17 goals in a European campaign set in 2013/14 against Diego Simeone’s men.
