Chelsea player Eden Hazard may face longer ban after the ballboy incident. Hazard was caught kicking the Swansea ballboy and was given a 3-match ban.

The FA feel that three matches is “clearly insufficient” punishment for Hazard’s actions. They want to add more games to the ban and have asked an independent commission that is capable of such a thing, to look into the same. The decision is expected to be out by next week. Chelsea have been given time till Tuesday to put forward their submissions.

Chelsea will defend the charges by showing a video clip that shows Hazard kick the ball instead of the ballboy, who hurt his ribs in the flashpoint.

South Wales police said, “From the outset, our primary concern was for the victim who was spoken to by a police officer in the presence of his father and he does not wish to make any formal complaint. We can confirm there is no longer any police involvement in this matter.”

It is expected that the commission will add one or two matches to Hazard’s suspension, although it does retain the right to disagree with the FA and rule that a three-game punishment is sufficient.
