The 24-year-old Italian striker cost the Merseyside club £16m at the start of the season and he is yet to deliver even one good performance of note.

Balotelli has scored only three goals this season – one each in the Premier League, Champions League and Europa League. That is 3 goals in over 1100 minutes on the pitch. He actually has more yellow cards than goals (7 bookings in all competitions).

Rival EPL fans want Mario Balotelli to win

The official Liverpool website are conducting a poll and have asked the fans to vote for various awards like Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Performance of the Year and Goal of the Year. And rival fans from clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have pounced on the opportunity to troll the Anfield club.

Anyone can vote for a player of their choice for Player of the Year, provided they fill in an e-mail address. Fans can even vote multiple times by using different e-mail addresses. In fact, the club even mentions that the player should have played at least one minute of football for the first team this season to qualify.

There is even a hashtag on Twitter #VoteBalotelli to make fans aware and ask them to vote for the Italian striker.
