JFK, short for Joe “f****g” Kinnear, is perhaps Newcastle United‘s answer to Chelsea‘s appointment of Jose Mourinho. Just when the “Special One” brought the media circus to town, Kinnear gatecrashed his party, driving in a clown car. The newspaper hacks, the Toon Army and, probably, even Alan Pardew aren’t amused by his appointment as director of football at NUFC.

Because, Kinnear’s shenanigans often result in endless mirth and amusement for the rest of the football world. The last time he was at Newcastle United, they were relegated to the Championship.

Here is a list of reasons why he is the joke of the Toon (town).

JFK will go down in the history of English football as the manager who unleashed an explosive five-minute rant at a press conference back in 2008.

In 1987, when Joe Kinnear was the manager of Nepal, he told a few journalists that he had to flee the country because the prince of Nepal – who was friends with Kinnear – shot the king and queen. It later turned out that the prince did in fact kill his parents, a full 14 years after Kinnear left the country.

Last night, Kinnear gave an interview with talkSPORT and made a complete fool of himself. He got the names of Newcastle United players all wrong: Yohan Kebab, Kayotee, Shola Ananobe, Ben Afra… to name a few. Kinnear declared to the talkSPORT hosts that he had won the Manager of the the Year award three times. He did win the Manager of the Year, but only once in 1994. He claimed that he signed Newcastle’s goalkeeper Tim Krul. But the truth is that Krul was signed by Graeme Souness; three years before Kinnear arrived at the club. Lastly, Kinnear doesn’t seem to remember correctly how many times he played for Tottenham Hotspur. He boasted that he made over 400 appearances but he was wrong again. He just has over 200+ appearances.

Like my friend who supports Newcastle United puts it, “We’re the laughing stock of English football once more.”

Well, at least now he can make fart noises every time Pardew mentions Newcastle United and the Europa League in the same sentence.
