Bayern Munich celebrate Jerome Boateng’s goal

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich beat Premier League champions Manchester City 1-0 thanks to a last minute winner from Jerome Boateng at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

The hosts were in control for majority of the game and had a number of chances to score, but were kept at bay by City goalkeeper Joe Hart who made many crucial saves to deny the Bavarian club. Hart saved shots from Thomas Muller, Mario Goetze and Boateng before conceding in the 90th minute to the former Manchester City player.

The goal was also Bayern’s 800th goal in European competitions, behind only Real Madrid (1000) and Barcelona (979).

The goal came with a sublime effort from Boateng who latched on to a loose ball in the box to fire home into the right corner.

Pep Guardiola’s reaction to Boateng’s goal

Although the Bayern squad went wild after the goal, their manager Pep Guardiola completely lost it!

He was first seen jumping up and down on the touchline, before pushing Boateng, grabbing him by the neck while speaking to him and then slapping him away in delirium.
