Jurgen Klopp expresses interest in Premier League position

Is Jurgen Klopp deserting Borussia Dortmund’s sinking ship?

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed in a recent interview that England is his next logical destination, and that he is willing to begin negotiations to achieve this aim.

Klopp, who achieved star-manager status by guiding his team to the Bundesliga title in 2011 and 2012 and the Champions League final in 2013, has been linked to Chelsea and Manchester City in the past, but it is Arsenal with which club his services have been furiously linked to in more recent times.

The 47-year-old said, “It’s the only country, I think, where I should work, really, next to Germany, because it’s the only country I know the language a little bit and I need the language for my work.”

Klopp logical choice at Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has continued to deliver less than expected results in the 2014-15 season as well, and reports suggest that the plan at Emirates is to shift their long-time manager to a position in the club’s administrative wing.

On asked about specific details about his future, Klopp said, “We will see. If somebody will call me, then we will talk about it.”

Klopp could be the logical choice at Arsenal to replace Wenger as well, because the German is known for an emphasis on fluent, attacking football and nurturing young players – carrying on a similar sort of legacy at the London club, so to speak. However, everybody remembers how that exercise turned out at Manchester United.

Changing of guards are complicated matters.

Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund travel to Arsenal’s home ground for a Champions League group stage match on 27 November.
