Alexis Sanchez: A favourite for the transfer gossip mongers

Manchester City have registered their interest in highly sought-after Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, according to Goal.

Goal revealed on Saturday that Arsenal are leading a long list of Premier League suitors in the race for Sanchez, with Manchester United and Liverpool also keen on the Chilean winger.

However, The Gunners’ plans could well be thwarted by the news that Manuel Pellegrini is considering a big-money move for Sanchez, despite the £49 million fine the Sky Blues face for contravening UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules.

Any potential deal for the 25-year-old livewire could depend on the future of Yaya Toure, who is set to hold talks with City after the World Cup having previously said the club don’t respect him.

Nevertheless, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all willing to match Barcelona’s £32 million valuation of Sanchez, City’s buying power could be less of an advantage in the battle for the Tocopilla native.

Sanchez himself, according to the Daily Express, favours a move to North London, over the cooler climes of Liverpool and Manchester.
